Hyde Park's Creative Team Composes Original Mannerist-Style Mouldings
Hyde Park is pleased and proud of our portfolio of fine Sculptural Work commissioned by some of the nation's premier architects. We find these collaborations challenging and tremendously satisfying!
In addition to a wealth of experience, these projects also afford us the ability to maintain a wealth of sculptural talent in our staff. We frequently highlight the exquisite work that our sculptors produce for commissioned projects, wherein your support and encouragement is gratefully felt, dear readers.
But today, we would like to share with you something just a bit different!
Recently, one of our staff sculptors conceived and executed two monumental, enriched crown mouldings: works solely of his own imagination and creation. It is with great joy that we share these works with you, our friends and followers. We hope that you will delight in them as much as we have:
These whimsical, inventive, and deft works were crafted over the course of months by a single sculptor whose preference is to carve ornament out of plaster rather than clay. This material difference is evident in the extraordinary crispness of his details.
The depth of the relief in itself is remarkable. By carving each element individually, the artist was able to achieve a depth of shadow that would otherwise be wholly unattainable.
These pieces will remain in our workshop as a testament to the creative possibilities available to our patrons. We welcome anyone with an interest in our work to come see our studios for yourself and be inspired by a material that, in skilled hands and an open mind, is truly limitless.
